ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) chapter on Wednesday announced its electoral manifesto vowing to make Azad Kashmir as self-reliant through 74th constitutional reforms act.
Addressing a press conference, former AJK prime minister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry, who is PTI AJK president, said that the special attention will be paid towards education, health and industrial sectors as the party has promised to establish a gas company in AJK.
The manifesto said that PTI, after coming into power, will establish a separate ministry to give equal representation to women in government jobs.
Sultan said that women would be given 33 percent representation in the Kashmir Assembly, adding that his party is committed to bringing transparency in the development schemes and believes in across the board accountability. The party vowed in its manifesto to enhance development funds, besides increasing number of overseas seats to three. It was also mentioned in the manifesto that the PTI would hold local bodies election within six month after coming into power. Referring to the distribution of party tickets, Sultan said that the PTI’s parliamentary board would distribute tickets among candidates on merit, adding he has no authority to distribute tickets.
