QUETTA – The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Sunday said had it delayed the action for a day the amount recovered from Raisani would have been sent abroad through the hundi system.
Raisani, who was arrested Friday night by the bureau officials, had disclosed the names of his associates in the Rs 730 million mega corruption scandal.
NAB officials confirmed the cash was found from a locker and 14 bags stuffed with local and foreign currencies. TV footage showed NAB official removing the bags from Mushtaq Raisani’s residence.
Raisani, an influential bureaucrat in Balochistan, had served as the finance secretary for the last few years. He had also served in the same position during the PPP government’s tenure.
