KARACHI: Sahibzada Sanaullah, member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from Upper Dir, called on Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at Bilawal House on Wednesday.
Sanaullah told Zardari that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had been victimising his supporters since he defeated a candidate of the Jamaat-e-Islami, the junior partner in the provincial government, in the recent by-election.
Contesting by-election on the PPP ticket, Sanaullah defeated Jamaat-e-Islami candidate in the by-election in the KP-93 constituency in Upper Dir. JI chief Siraj-ul-Haq had vacated the seat.
Sanaullah said the PTI government had frozen development funds for his area and even the ongoing schemes in his constituency and flood-affected people of his area were being ignored. He described these policies as victimisation of the people of Upper Dir for rejecting the JI in the by-election.
Sanaullah informed the PPP chairman about the political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the problems faced by the masses and the party workers.
Zardari said that he had been receiving such complaints against the PTI government in the past and added that he did not expect a democratic attitude from the PTI. He said that the act of freezing development funds for Sanaullah’s constituency was condemnable.
Separately, Syed Ali Mardan Shah, Sindh minister for population welfare, called on Zardari and briefed him about development projects in the Umerkot District.
