ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior Affairs Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that there is a difference between terrorism and struggling for freedom in an apparent reference to the atrocities being committed by the Indian forces in Kashmir.
He said this during the SAARC interior ministers’ conference. He said that subjecting innocent children and civilians to torture and assault came under the ambit of terrorism. He also said that six decades of allegations have produced nothing of substance.
He insisted that it was high time that productive talks and negotiations be conducted to resolve disputes. India’s Interior Minister Rajnath Singh had also arrived in Islamabad to attend the SAARC interior ministers’ conference.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif also participated in the conference earlier and urged members of the SAARC platform to combat the challenges faced by the region with joint cooperation.
