BADIN: Over seven hundred schoolchildren of the Gharibabad Primary School are deprived of basic needs including benches, washrooms and drinking water, while the state-run educational institute has eight teachers, rejecting the government’s recipe of one teacher for 25 students. Despite declaring education emergency, this school lacks minimum standards of an educational institute as students of Class 1 and Class 2 are seen sitting on floor in the absence of benches. In addition, there is no water cooler for the schoolchildren while girls are going to nearby homes as school has no toilet facility. Councilors Ghulam Hussain Soomro, Hanif Sehrat, Ashfaq Memon and Sattar Shaikh told this scribe that it was a matter of shame for the Sindh government and its Education Department that no one was paying attention to this school. They appealed to the Sindh chief minister to take notice of the situation and provide required facilities to the school.
