ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto on Tuesday shared his opinion about his agreements and disagreements with Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan over his recent statements about the Pakistan Muslim League-N and military takeover.
Addressing a press conference after his participation in election rallies in Azad Jammu Kashmir, he showed his agreement with the PTI chairman’s earlier statement regarding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif being the biggest ‘threat’ to democracy in Pakistan.
But he disagreed with Imran’s earlier statement, in which he said the people of Pakistan would rejoice if the army takes over the country. “I do not support such statements which call for unconstitutional change,” he said, and warned the government in Islamabad of a strong reaction if Kashmiri elections were rigged.
“We are smelling that they (the federal government) are planning to rig elections in Azad Jammu Kashmir which would be strongly rejected,” he said. In his opinion, he said that the Kashmiri elections could be a turning point for the long-standing cause. He also criticised the government for not having a foreign minister to deal with day-to-day foreign policies issues.
